FAQ

What if I don’t have a computer?
A free laptop will be provided to you for use during the school year. Whether we are on remote learning or on-campus setting, all courses will be delivered through the school managed laptop, including video conferences with staff, academic tutoring, and access to relevant content for classes.
What if I don’t have WiFi at home?
We have made arrangements with service providers to give free wifi access devices to students who need it. Just let us know when you are given an appointment to pick up the laptop.
How is the school day structured?
Depending on the method of delivery (remote or on campus), our students will still have four classes each day, for each semester. Lunch is scheduled in the middle of the day.
When does my school work need to be submitted?
Each teacher guides the student through the online curriculum, and they monitor the progress of each student.
How many credits can I take per semester?
Most students earn six credits per year, with an accumulation of 24 credits for a diploma at the end of four years. However, motivated students can receive up to eight credits per year, is approved by the Guidance Director.
What type of school work can I expect?
Apex online curriculum assigns work in a manner that permits students to work 1:1 with teachers on video lessons, written assignments, and reading material that is geared toward their learning abilities.
What if I feel like the curriculum is too difficult or too slow for me?
Students work at their own pace, at all times, and teachers monitor their progress each day. If content is more difficult, the student may slow down and repeat online lessons until they have mastered the content. If they still are moving slowly, the classroom teacher will tutor in the normal class setting until the student is comfortable with the content. And there is FREE tutoring every day after school, or through video conferencing if we are in a remote learning environment.
Are there group video meetings?
Yes! Teachers schedule group meetings throughout the week for all students.
What kind of access will I have to my teachers? i.e. Can I talk with teachers one-on-one through video calls?
Students routinely email teachers with simple questions, request video conferences for more extended time, or have parents email and make appointments for phone calls, as often as needed.

Is my information secure?
Administrators at the school manage all content, email, and video communications through a secure cloud server with Google Classroom
How can I interact with my peers? What kind of social activities with my classmates will I have access to?
